The Cleveland Browns need to bounce back this season.
Though a lot of last year’s struggles can be traced to quarterback Deshaun Watson, the offensive line didn’t give him much of a chance, either.
The unit regressed without assistant coach Bill Callahan, and injuries also took a big toll.
That’s why Browns legend Hanford Dixon believes this will be a crucial season for lineman Dawand Jones.
Dixon said Jones needs to prove he can hold the fort at left tackle, adding that he was fully confident in his ability to do so.
“One area that we have to figure out what we’re going to do is that left tackle. We know we have Dawand Jones there. I mean, that guy is just huge,” Dixon said.

Jones’ physical tools and talents have never been doubted.
He’s got everything it takes to be one of the best blindside protectors in the league, as he proved last season in limited snaps.
His health, however, is a reason for concern, as he suffered season-ending injuries in each of his two years.
The Browns reportedly plan to make him their starting left tackle for the present and the future.
But if he can’t shake off his woes and misses time again, they will have no choice but to consider other options next offseason.
Jones reportedly has shed some body fat and added some muscle, and that should help him avoid injuries.
His massive frame might be a blessing and a curse, and hopefully, his body will hold up.
