Training camp is in full swing, and Cleveland Browns fans around the world are finally getting to see glimpses of what the team might look like after all the changes that were made this offseason. The most important part of training camp is everyone building chemistry and making it to Week 1 healthy, though that is always easier said than done.
The Browns have gotten banged up over the past week or so, particularly up front as a number of defensive tackles are dealing with injuries at the moment. Maliek Collins is still on the PUP list as he works his way back from the quad injury he suffered late last season. Sam Kamara and Kalia Davis are also out while Mason Graham and Mike Hall Jr. have missed some reps with minor injuries as well.
That’s essentially the entire depth chart, which is why it’s time for some reinforcements. The Browns have made a flurry of moves in recent days, and Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot shared that the team has now claimed DT Patrick Jenkins off waivers from the New York Jets.

Jenkins went undrafted out of Tulane in 2025 and bounced around between the Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons practice squads before spending the year in the UFL. He is back in the NFL this year and signed with the Jets on August 5th before being waived the next day, which has led to him finding his new home in Cleveland.
He was a two-time first-team All-AAC at Tulane and made the second-team one time as well. At just under 6’2″ and 293 pounds, he has decent size for the position and will now look to make an immediate impact and try to stick with the Browns.
It’s a next man up mentality in Cleveland right now with all the injuries at defensive tackle, and we’ll see if Jenkins can get on the field during preseason and surprise some people.
