There are five new starting offensive linemen on the Cleveland Browns this season and hopefully this new unit can put a stop to the revolving door in the trenches for a while. A lot of other linemen have come and gone in recent years due to injury, retirement, and underperformance, but this current group has the talent and the youth to stick around for a while and collectively form one of the better lines in the AFC.
It’s always a bummer when a former Brown hangs up the cleats, which franchise stalwarts like Joe Thomas and Joel Bitonio have done over the past few years. Guys like that leave behind impossible voids to fill, but they’re not the only former Browns linemen to call it quits of late as another journeyman decided he had played his last snap on Friday.
Insider Ari Meirov shared that former Browns tackle Kendall Lamm has decided to retire after 11 years in the NFL. The veteran signed with the Baltimore Ravens just weeks ago, but after going through a few weeks of camp, he decided it was time to call it a career.

Lamm appeared in 13 games last season as a backup for the Miami Dolphins, who he spent the past four seasons with. He originally signed with the Houston Texans in 2015 as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State and spent four seasons with them.
Lamm signed a two-year deal with the Browns after his stint with the Texans concluded and even scored his first touchdown with the Browns, catching a one-yard pass from Baker Mayfield in a win over the Tennessee Titans in 2020. After leaving the Browns, he spent a year with the Tennessee Titans before playing the last four years of his career with Miami.
Lamm’s retirement isn’t the most surprising news in the world, but he was a solid Brown and he will be missed. It was an incredible run for an undrafted free agent and he should be proud of all he accomplished in this league.
