Over the last few years, the Cleveland Browns have received a lot of heat due to their historic trade for Deshaun Watson. Since coming to the Browns, Watson has created a lot of controversy, cost the team tons of money, and hasn’t delivered much.
Some people have called the pursuit of Watson the worst sports trade of all time. But Ken Carman believes a different one has surpassed the Browns. Speaking on 92.3 The Fan, Carman claimed that the Los Angeles Clippers’ trade for Kawhi Leonard is now the worst ever.
Following the massive punishment handed down by the NBA, the Clippers are in terrible shape, and many people believe it’s all because of Leonard.
“I just don’t want everything to go back to the Browns, and why I should care. By the way, honestly, this has to be the worst trade [in sports history],” Carman said.

When you look at what the Clippers have to give up because of this latest scandal, it looks quite bad. They are losing five first-round draft picks and facing multiple suspensions to their front office. For his part, Leonard is having to part with just $700,000.
But when you add up all of the pieces that the Clippers had to give up both in the past and the present, the picture is a lot worse, and it may have doomed the team for years to come.
Although some people now consider this trade worse than the Watson one, it doesn’t let the Browns off the hook. People will always complain about Cleveland’s front office and their choice to get Watson. On paper, adding him to the roster made sense at the time because of his skills and experience. But his off-field drama and the incredibly large contract made Watson a tough pill to swallow.
Since coming to Cleveland, he hasn’t convinced people that he was worth it. But as Carman pointed out, at least he will be playing for the team this year. That’s not the case for the Clippers, who are losing Leonard in a trade to the Toronto Raptors.
The Leonard trade may be worse and may have hurt the Clippers more, but many people are still bothered by the Browns and their recruitment of Watson.
