In the midst of a short week, the Cleveland Browns are already taking care of some roster changes. Heading into a Thursday night meeting against the Pittsburgh Steelers with first place in the AFC North on the line, every move is being looked at carefully.
The Browns made five roster moves on Tuesday, adding two players to the practice squad, releasing two others, and parting with a player from injured reserve.
Insider Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com provided the details.
“Browns have signed CB Myles Bryant & TE John FitzPatrick to the practice squad and released CB D’Angelo Ross & TE Messiah Swinson from the [practice squad]. Released G Kendrick Green from IR,” Cabot posted.

Bryant is a seven-year veteran who returns to the Browns’ practice squad after he was released last week in favor of Ross. In 77 NFL games with the New England Patriots (2020-23) and the Houston Texans (2024-25), Bryant has 173 combined tackles, two sacks, four interceptions, and 17 passes defended.
Starting cornerback Tyson Campbell was inactive for Cleveland’s 21-18 Week 3 victory against the Carolina Panthers, but he returned to practice on Tuesday. The Browns may be looking for some insurance with this game’s quick turnaround. Michael Coats Jr. is also on the practice squad after he suffered a leg injury in training camp.
FitzPatrick has appeared in 33 NFL games with the Atlanta Falcons (2022-23) and Green Bay Packers (2024-25), and he had 12 catches in 15 games last season. Swinson had joined the practice squad after the final cuts were made, and he has yet to make his NFL debut.
Green was placed on injured reserve during training camp in early August. He played one game for the Browns last season after he was signed off the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad. It was his 37th NFL appearance after time with the Steelers (2021-22) and Texans (2023-24).
Guard Teven Jenkins also returned to practice after missing the first three games with a back injury. He has been replaced as a starter by rookie Austin Barber.
The Browns will continue their preparation for the prime-time game, looking to extend their Thursday night home winning streak against the Steelers to five games without a loss and to 12-1 in those contests overall.
