The 2026 NFL season is going much better for the Cleveland Browns than anyone could have expected heading into the year. Not only has their defense been solid without Myles Garrett, but the Deshaun Watson-led offense has also delivered in key moments.
Watson has delivered fourth-quarter heroics in three straight games, leading game-winning drives for an offense that started the season as one of the worst in the league. Fans were frustrated by the team not making any quarterback moves in the offseason, but they’ve certainly changed their tune after seeing what he’s done to this point.
Now that the Browns are 3-1 thanks to what Watson has been able to accomplish late in games, some comments from the Houston Texans’ owner, Hannah McNair, have resurfaced, which MLFootball noted.
“Thank a Brown. Have you thanked a Brown lately? I thank them for all of our players,” McNair said in an old interview.
REMINDER: #Texans owner Cal McNair thanked the #Browns for trading for Deshaun Watson and helping Houston build its roster.

In this press conference, McNair was seemingly making fun of the Browns for taking on Watson and signing him to a huge deal, as well as thanking them for the players they acquired in the trade. The Browns did trade three first-round picks to the Texans, along with three other picks, which have turned into some fantastic players for Houston.
While these players have looked solid to this point in their respective careers, and the Texans have performed well since the Watson trade, the Browns are looking much better than they are in 2026. The Browns are 3-1 on the season, compared to the Texans, who are 0-4.
McNair might have been laughing when he initially made these statements, but it’s the Browns and their fanbase who are laughing now, especially since 3-1 was a result that might have seemed impossible after their Week 1 blowout loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It will be interesting to see if the Browns can hold on to this momentum for the rest of the season, but for now, fans are riding the wave and enjoying what they’re watching.
