The Cleveland Browns could be a very prominent team on the NFL trade market leading up to the deadline, with the value for some of their players seemingly increasing by the week. Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel could wind up generating significant interest if the injuries to quarterbacks around the league continue.
More likely, the Browns are probably going to part with veteran wide receiver Jerry Jeudy at some point. He has already been surpassed in their passing game by rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, and he has been seen pouting on the sidelines because of it.
So, it might be in the best interests of both sides to find a new destination. A perfect landing spot may have emerged this weekend.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Browns and Kansas City Chiefs could make a big trade involving Jeudy, who would fill a glaring need the Chiefs have at the position.
“The Browns have Denzel Boston, KC Concepcion, these young receivers. Let’s say Kansas City, they don’t get Tyreek Hill, you call Cleveland, you offer some kind of pick, get Jerry Jeudy,” Schefter said.

In Kansas City’s 30-27 win against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, the Chiefs lost wide receivers Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton to injuries. While Rice’s hamstring issue may be a week-to-week setback, Thornton is likely lost for the season after he suffered a serious ankle injury.
That scenario has increased rumors that the Chiefs may be looking to bring back Hill, who suffered a serious leg injury playing for the Miami Dolphins last season. A Super Bowl champion with Kansas City, Hill is currently a free agent.
It means that the Chiefs would not have to part with any assets to acquire him, and he is already very familiar with their offense and the organization. But if Kansas City is unable to come to terms with him, Jeudy could be an attractive fallback option.
Although he has just five receptions on eight targets this season, two of them came on a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. Though Jeudy may no longer be at his peak, the dropoff may not be due to diminishing skills as much as Concepcion and Boston have already emerged as stars in the Browns’ offense.
Sometimes, perfect trade opportunities come up out of nowhere, and Jeudy to the Chiefs may turn out to be one of those fortunate scenarios.
