Jared Verse Sends Clear Message About Deshaun Watson

There were a lot of question marks surrounding the Cleveland Browns heading into this season, many of which involved Jared Verse and Deshaun Watson. Verse stepped into the impossible situation of having to replace Myles Garrett while Watson had the entire world against him and rooting for him to fail one final time as this team’s starting quarterback.

Now with the team at 3-1 largely thanks to these two, the criticism is much quieter. Both Verse and Watson have emerged as vocal leaders as well and Verse recently voiced his support for his quarterback, as many others have done over the past few weeks.

In a recent clip shared by 92.3 The Fan, Verse discussed his lack of surprise that Watson has performed so well.

“He’s a great QB. I’m not surprised by the way he’s playing at all,” Verse said.

Verse’s vocal leadership has been on full display from the minute he showed up to camp. He has led by example and been everything this team needed even though he doesn’t have a sack yet.

Watson’s performance has been much more unexpected. He has this team on the verge of matching its longest winning streak since 1986 and he is finally giving the Browns some return on investment for all the time and money put into him over the past five years.

Watson has been so good that it already has fans and analysts wondering which other quarterback is going to be traded once Dillon Gabriel is fully healthy. With Verse and the rest of the team behind him, he may only keep improving to the point where he wins many of these fans over once and for all.

Nobody could have foreseen the Browns being in this position after four games, but it doesn’t look like a fluke. If Watson is playing well, this team can truly compete due to all the talent around him. It may sound crazy, but it doesn’t sound crazy to Jared Verse.
