The Cleveland Browns have a chance to match their longest winning streak in 40 years against the New York Jets on Sunday as they look to move to 4-1 and shockingly keep control of the AFC North. No one saw this coming from the Browns this season, but circumstances have changed as Deshaun Watson somehow has this team buzzing on all cylinders.
The Browns are also fairly healthy heading into Sunday’s matchup, though there are a few key players missing the contest such as Mason Graham and Mike Hall. There is going to be a lot of pressure on Adin Huntington and Maliek Collins to hold things down at defensive tackle, but the Browns worked out four more players to find some reinforcements. But somewhat surprisingly, none of those players play defensive tackle.
The Browns worked out four players, according to insider Aaron Wilson. Of the four players, three are cornerbacks and one is a safety.
“Browns worked out Dontae Manning, Israel Mukuamu, Mekhi Rodgers, Zelmar Vedder,” Wilson said.

Mukuamu is the only one of the three who has seen regular season action in the NFL. He played safety for the Dallas Cowboys for three years, logging 46 appearances from 2022-24 and collecting 42 tackles and three interceptions.
The three corners have bounced around practice squads over the years, but CB depth was one of the weaknesses on this roster heading into this season and wasn’t aggressively addressed. If any of these three get signed, they may not see action with the Browns, but it will be nice to have at least another warm body just in case.
Given Mukuamu’s experience, he would be the most obvious candidate to land a contract. You never know what’s going to come of these group workouts, but if the Browns can get a little more help in the secondary, it certainly wouldn’t hurt in the long run.
