Last season, Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins was seen as one of the most exciting young rookies in the NFL and a name to keep a close eye on. This season, he is off to a rather sluggish start, and it has many people talking. Speaking on 92.3 The Fan, Nick Wilson said that it may be time to bench Judkins.
Judkins doesn’t have the “feel” of the rest of the offensive line, according to Wilson, and keeping him on the field could self-sabotage the Browns after a promising start to the year.
“If Quinshon is healthy enough to play against the Ravens and we’re still getting 80 to 20 percent touches, at some point, the Browns are self sabotaging by putting him out there. He doesn’t look like he has a feel of the offensive line…he looks like a guy out of place. Right now, I think his struggles are compounding the offensive line struggles,” Wilson said.

As of now, it sounds like Judkins could be ready to play this weekend against the Baltimore Ravens. That will obviously be a pivotal game, and it could bring the Browns to a 4-2 record or even them out to 3-3. It could bring back their momentum or kill it after the disappointing loss to the Jets.
Judkins ended his rookie campaign with 230 rushing attempts and a total of 827 yards. After his five games this year, he has 73 rushing attempts and 221 yards. Last year, his longest rushing attempt was 46, but he’s only racked up 14 yards this season.
The team has gone through a lot of changes in the offseason, and the offense is looking very different with a slew of new faces as well as a new coaching staff. To Judkins’ credit, it’s only been five games, which means there is still time for him to find his footing and get back to the player he was last year.
If he isn’t able to play this weekend and a different running back performs better, Judkins’ role on the team may change, and he may take a backseat to someone else.
This is going to be a crucial game for the Browns and Judkins, who needs to remind people what he’s capable of.
