The recent changes to the Cleveland Browns obviously helped the team, so it makes sense they’d continue to entertain more. Just weeks into the new season, trade rumors keep swirling around the team. Whispers about wide receiver Jerry Jeudy leaving Cleveland have been around for years now, and they are once again looming over the team.
But while speaking to 92.3 The Fan, Mary Kay Cabot said that the front office has no intention of letting go of Jeudy, although an ideal, unpredictable trade could pop up and may be too good to pass up.
“No, I don’t think so. I really don’t think so. I think that’s another situation where they know that they’re going to need their depth. There are always injuries. Look what happened with KC in this past game. Jerry is another player that I think will be here and that the Browns are absolutely not looking to trade. Having said all of that, things do change. You do get phone calls around the trade deadline that you weren’t expecting. Sometimes, things come along that you just didn’t think were going to be there. Andrew Berry is always looking to wheel and deal. He always will listen to offers, but he’s not heading into the trade deadline seeking to trade any of these players,” Cabot said.

Cabot said that general manager Andrew Berry is always looking to “wheel and deal” and listen to offers that come to his team. Even if he feels loyal to Jeudy, he won’t pass up a great opportunity when the phone rings.
Jeudy has been attached to trade rumors for ages, seemingly since he first arrived in Cleveland. His best season was arguably in 2024, when he caught 90 passes for 1,229 yards and four touchdowns. Since then, Jeudy has been average at best.
On Sunday, Jeudy was good for seven targets for 19 yards. During the first five weeks of 2026, he has earned just eight passes for 81 yards.
Jeudy brings experience, which is important because so many young players have come to the Browns. He can be a backup WR, especially when injuries flare up, as they did against the Jets. But it seems clear that the Browns aren’t putting a huge emphasis on him, which is leading to more and more trade rumors.
However, Cabot said the team isn’t looking to let go of him, at least not right now. As the trade deadline approaches, you can bet his name will be floated around more.
This may or may not be the year that the Browns say goodbye to Jeudy.
