The NFL’s trade deadline is roughly three weeks away and it’s still unclear whether the Cleveland Browns will be buying or selling at that point. This week’s huge matchup with the Baltimore Ravens will be a strong indicator of which way they decide to go ahead of the deadline, and with Lamar Jackson missing a second straight game, the Browns have a chance to get to 4-2 and take control of the AFC North.
The most likely scenario is that the Browns could wind up doing a bit of both. This team has shown too much promise to completely punt on this season, but there is definitely a veteran or two that will draw some interest around the league.
On a recent appearance on The Ross Tucker Podcast, Jordan Schultz brought up wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, whose name has been in the rumor mill quite a bit lately. He has fallen completely out of the pecking order in Cleveland and Schultz noted that it is common knowledge that he is widely available.
“Jerry Jeudy is 27 years old, he’s owed $18 million next year but it’s all non-guaranteed money, basically. He had a big game against Pittsburgh, and then he only plays 24 snaps against the Jets. That’s a name that I would look at as teams know he’s available. They’ve wanted a third or fourth-round pick, Cleveland has. I’m not sure they’ll get it, but it’s pretty well known around the league that Jerry Jeudy is available,” Schultz said.
“One more name is Jerry Jeudy…”

It’s surprising how far Jeudy has fallen off compared to his first year in Cleveland when he exploded for 90 catches for 1,229 yards in 2024. He has just eight catches for 81 yards and no touchdowns so far, although he has shown a few signs of life over the past couple of weeks.
After not catching a pass for two games, Jeudy caught three passes for a season-high 36 yards against the Steelers and even though his snap count went down against the Jets last week, he received seven targets after seeing just eight over the first four games combined.
If the Browns are looking for a third-rounder for Jeudy, they’re going to need to pump his numbers up over the next few weeks because at this rate they’d be lucky to get a fifth for him. With rookies Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion thriving alongside Deshaun Watson, Jeudy has unfortunately become the forgotten man, and it might be best for both parties to move on.
