Division games are rarely pretty, and the ones that matter most often come down to the final snap. Momentum swings, defenses take over and the team that makes one more play walks away with the win. That is how Sunday unfolded in Cleveland. The Browns rallied from a 10-point deficit and beat the Baltimore Ravens 13-10 on a field goal as time expired, moving into 1st place in the AFC North.

Fans had plenty of reactions.
“THIS TEAM DOESN’T GIVE UP MAN,” one fan wrote.
“YOUR FIRST PLACE CLEVELAND BROWNS,” another fan commented.
“Ugly Win But We’ll Take It #Browns #Dawgpound,” another fan said.
“We’ve never deserved a W less, but we’ll take it however they come. DW4’s 4th game-winning drive.. low key insane LOL,” another fan commented.
Andre Szmyt delivered the winning kick, a 37-yarder as the clock hit zero to complete the comeback. It was the latest chapter in a season full of late-game drama for a team that keeps finding ways to win in the final moments.
The Browns trailed 10-0 after the 1st quarter, when Tyler Huntley, starting in place of the injured Lamar Jackson, found Josh Cuevas for a 2-yard touchdown and Tyler Loop added a 34-yard field goal. Baltimore did not score again.
That shutout over the final 3 quarters was a testament to a defense playing without Mason Graham and Mike Hall Jr., and without Grant Delpit for much of the afternoon after he left with a concussion. Carson Schwesinger, listed as questionable with an ankle injury, led the way with 13 tackles and a forced fumble that Tyson Campbell recovered. Quincy Williams, Maliek Collins and Isaiah McGuire each recorded a sack.
Derrick Henry was held to 58 yards on 17 carries, and the Browns stretched their streak of games without allowing a 300-yard passer to 51.
The offense came alive after halftime. Szmyt’s 48-yard field goal in the 3rd quarter got Cleveland on the board, and Audric Estime, signed off the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad on Monday, punched in a 2-yard touchdown run with 8:33 left to tie the game in his Browns debut.
Deshaun Watson completed 16 of 26 passes for 164 yards and added 29 yards on the ground, though he was sacked 5 times. Jerry Jeudy led the team with 4 catches for 69 yards, including a 33-yard grab, the kind of performance that could boost his value ahead of the trade deadline. KC Concepcion added 4 catches for 37 yards in his return from a concussion.
The win carries major significance. The Browns improved to 4-2 and climbed into 1st place in the AFC North, a spot they have not held this late in a season since 2014. They also own wins over both Pittsburgh and Baltimore, giving them a perfect 2-0 division record and the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Ravens.
Todd Monken downplayed facing his former team all week, but this victory gives him a signature win in his 1st season and answers the questions raised by last week’s loss to the New York Jets.
The Browns did it without Quinshon Judkins, Graham and several other key contributors, and that resilience may be the most encouraging sign of all. With the November 10 deadline approaching and Andrew Berry expected to be aggressive, Cleveland now has every reason to believe this season can be something special.
