The NFL trade deadline is quickly approaching, which means the Cleveland Browns have to make some decisions. Do they have enough faith in their current team, or are they interested in shaking things up, even just a little bit? The team has options, and Mary Kay Cabot believes the team could make a trade.
“I think they would like to be buyers in the trade market, but maybe not, perhaps, big, huge buyers where you’re going to see some blockbuster things happening. But add some pieces here and there—I could see them doing that. I’ve been vocal about saying that they should try to trade for Khalil Mack. I really, really, truly believe that that would be good for this football team in so many ways, including helping to bring out the best in Jared Verse,” Cabot said.

Cabot once again shared her opinion about Khalil Mack. She feels he would be a perfect fit for the Browns and believes the team should take a run at him.
On the other hand, she made it clear that Jerry Jeudy likely isn’t going anywhere and was never really at risk of being traded to another team. Considering she said that the Browns want to be buyers and not sellers, it sounds like Jeudy isn’t the only player who can feel secure about staying put in Cleveland this year.
But if the Browns truly are serious about acquiring some players before the trade deadline, they’d have to give up someone or something. Mack, for example, wouldn’t be free, and the Browns need to be prepared to cut some assets from their roster if they want him.
So, while the Browns may not want to let go of players, they may be forced to. The Chargers would probably be willing to play ball because their playoff hopes are all but gone. Other teams could also be interested in sending talent to Cleveland, depending on the deal.
General manager Andrew Berry needs to be very careful with any trade he commits to because he doesn’t want to mess up the good thing the team has going through its first six weeks.
