Few players in the NFL draw the kind of attention Shedeur Sanders does. Every throw in practice, every comment at the podium and every move he makes gets dissected far beyond Cleveland. That spotlight only grows when an opportunity to start opens up, and that is exactly where Sanders finds himself this week. Now, his family is weighing in on how he is being covered.
Shilo Sanders responded to criticism of his brother’s latest press conference during a livestream, taking aim at the questions coming from the Browns media.
“Let me just be a reporter for the Browns, because I actually ask some good questions,” Shilo Sanders said.

The clip shows Shilo calling out reporters for what he viewed as questions designed to set his brother up. He suggested he could do the job better himself.
It is not the first time the Sanders family has pushed back on how Shedeur is portrayed. From the moment he slid to the 5th round of the 2025 draft, his every move has been treated as a national story. His father, Deion Sanders, and his brothers have never been shy about defending him publicly.
With Deshaun Watson in the concussion protocol, Sanders took the 1st team reps Wednesday and could start Sunday in New Orleans. Any time he speaks, the interest level spikes, and so does the scrutiny of what he says.
For reporters, that is part of the job. A potential starting quarterback in his 2nd season, with a crowded quarterback picture and a franchise still searching for its long-term answer, is going to face tough questions. How he handles them is part of the evaluation too.
Sanders has shown he can handle the moment on the field. He started down the stretch as a rookie and won his final 2 starts to close last season. Todd Monken said this week that he could not wait to see Sanders let it rip in practice.
The noise from outside the building is not going away, whether it comes from reporters, family members or national voices. What matters most is what Sanders does if he gets the call on Sunday.
A strong performance against the Saints would quiet plenty of critics. It would also give the Sanders family something better to talk about than press conference questions.
Browns fans will learn more about Watson’s status as the week goes on.
