Two names that will not show up in a box score turned in one of the more impressive statistical performances of the entire game.

A zero-pressure day from any offensive lineman is a strong outing on its own, but doing it as a pair of rookies protecting a quarterback under this much scrutiny is impressive. Fano has held down the left tackle spot since the start of the season, while Barber has manned right guard after stepping into the starting lineup when Teven Jenkins went down with a back injury in Week 1. Both being credited with a perfect pass protection day against an NFL front is a notable accomplishment for players who are still just two games into their professional careers.
Barber’s performance continues a trend that started in the season opener, where he already graded out as the highest-rated rookie offensive lineman in the league according to Pro Football Focus. Combining that early recognition with a pressure free performance in Week 2 reinforces the idea that Monken and this coaching staff found something real when Barber earned that starting job, regardless of when Jenkins eventually returns to full health.
This kind of protection mattered even more given everything riding on Watson’s performance Sunday. A quarterback working to rebuild confidence and answer a full week of outside criticism benefits enormously from a clean pocket, and Watson’s final numbers, 24 of 30 for 238 yards and 2 touchdowns without a turnover, reflect an offensive line that gave him the time he needed to operate.
