The Cleveland Browns couldn’t close out things against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. Once again, the defense did its job, but the offense failed to get it done when it mattered most.
This time, however, the officials may have had something to do with that. Former NFL player Emmanuel Acho highlighted a huge missed call against the Browns late in the game.
With Cleveland facing fourth-and-5, one of the Ravens’ defensive players jumped ahead of the snap, easily getting past Browns guard Wyatt Teller to put pressure on quarterback Shedeur Sanders. As a result, the rookie failed to convert on a play that wound up sealing the game for Baltimore.
“Should’ve been an offside called on that last play. It was an illegal jump. That’s why Wyatt Teller got beat so bad, No. 77. You see No. 77’s livid,” Acho said.
Correct, Ravens jumped on the last play. Refs missed it. #Browns https://t.co/ncBDRVMmMl pic.twitter.com/HhpQmcuvTT

Quarterback Struggles Continue As Browns Fall Short Again
Of course, a team never wants to be in a position where a missed call can cost a game. The Browns were within reach all day long, but their offensive miscues were too much to overcome.
Starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel showed glimpses of great play and even had the longest completion of his young career before leaving to be evaluated for a concussion.
The offense wasn’t marching up and down the field with Gabriel, but things got much worse when Sanders replaced him. Fans who believed he was ready to play were proven wrong by his 4-for-16 passing performance.
The fact that the Browns still had a chance to win the game is somewhat encouraging. However, with the season slipping away, it’s not the time for moral victories. The Browns’ offensive struggles add to the urgency of finding stability at the quarterback position as the season winds down.
