The Cleveland Browns are entering a new era on offense, and one of the franchise’s greatest players believes the team made the right move up front.
Hall of Fame offensive tackle Joe Thomas recently shared high praise for new offensive line coach George Warhop, offering his opinion on what Browns fans can expect from their new coach.
“George Warhop is gonna get the most out of every single one of those guys,” Thomas said. “I’ve got 100% confidence that whatever their skill level or whatever their ceiling is, he’s gonna get them there.”

Thomas is widely regarded as one of the best offensive linemen in NFL history, and his perspective on line play and coaching is about as credible as it gets.
He didn’t stop there in his praise of Warhop.
“Maybe they don’t have the talent level to get there, but if it’s there, he will get it out of them,” Thomas added. “One of the greatest O-line coaches I’ve ever been around.”
The Browns have invested heavily in rebuilding their offensive line this offseason, bringing in players like Tytus Howard, Elgton Jenkins and Zion Johnson to reshape the unit. With new head coach Todd Monken expected to emphasize the run game, the offensive line will play a central role in the team’s success.
Warhop’s coaching style seems to fit that vision perfectly.
According to Thomas, Warhop is “all business,” meaning players should expect a no-nonsense approach focused on discipline, technique, and maximizing performance. That will be exactly what Cleveland needs after there were so many questions about coaches holding the players accountable last season.
Ultimately, this hire may not generate the same buzz as a big-name player name, but it could end up being just as important.
If Warhop truly can elevate the group to its full potential, the Browns’ offense could take a major step forward in 2026 — and it all starts in the trenches.
