The Cleveland Browns had several promising rookies last season, giving fans reasons to believe in an exciting future for the team. One of those rookies was tight end Harold Fannin, who put up strong numbers during his first campaign in the NFL. Now all eyes are on him for his second year with the Browns.
Writing for Fox Sports, Ralph Vacchiano stated that Fannin could be one of the breakout stars of 2026 if he gets some support from the rest of his team.
“If you were watching carefully, you saw Fannin break out a bit last year as a rookie, finishing with 72 catches for 731 yards and six touchdowns for an awful team with terrible quarterback play. With a little better play from his quarterbacks — obviously not a guarantee — he has a chance to put up truly elite numbers, especially if he can finally harness some of the explosiveness he once showed at Bowling Green,” Vacchiano wrote.
Fannin participated in 16 games last year and made an impression in just about all of them. The numbers speak for themselves, and his youthful energy and dedication to the team were evident.
There is good reason to keep a close eye on Fannin, because he could get even better in a second season with a new coaching staff that is desperate to build around players who have already proven themselves.
But as Vacchiano noted, Fannin will have more luck if the rest of his team plays well. Last year, the team was floundering partly due to their quarterback troubles. They are trying to find a solution to the problem right now, but if they aren’t getting capable play from their QB in the new season, it’s unlikely that Fannin will be able to take things to the next level.
He already played with Shedeur Sanders last season, with some fans saying they were building a strong partnership on the field. There are certain people who want to see them work together even more, while others feel a new quarterback would be able to do even better with Fannin. The young man has gotten off to a great start, but he’s hoping to do even more in the new year.
With good health, a continued commitment, and help from his fellow players, he may do that.
