The Cleveland Browns wrapped up their preseason with a nice 37-13 walloping of the New England Patriots on Thursday night despite all the projected starters sitting this one out. The backups and all the young players fighting for roster spots left it all out there, though unfortunately, the first wave of cuts already sealed a lot of their fates.
Depth isn’t exactly Cleveland’s strong suit at the moment, so there are a few spots on the roster that are still unsettled. There are still question marks at tight end, corner, and a few other spots, but there’s another under-the-radar position that is still in flux.
Dan Labbe of Cleveland.com posted about Cleveland’s uncertain punting situation. He noted that the Browns still have two punters after Nik Constantinou was part of the first group of cuts, leaving Corey Bojorquez and Wes Pahl as the two remaining punters.

Bojorquez has been with the Browns for four years, but last year might have been the worst showing he has had in Cleveland. He has seen the field far more often than the fans would like given the repugnant offense over the past few years, so as solid as he has been during his tenure, it would be nice to see him less often in 2026 if he winds up keeping his job.
He led the league in punts over each of the last two years and was fourth in 2023, though last season he had a career-high 11 touchbacks and posted by far the worst percentage of punts inside the 20. His net was a career low and he posted his lowest average yards per punt since 2019. Put all that together, and you understand why there has quietly been a competition for this job throughout camp.
Bojorquez has most likely retained the job with Constantinou getting cut, and the fact that he was the holder for Andre Szmyt’s field goal attempts on Thursday is another indicator that this is still officially his job. It was always an uphill battle for Pahl as an undrafted free agent, but we’ll likely find out his fate in the coming days.
