Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel has been activated from IR, which means that he is once again ready to take to the field if head coach Todd Monken wants him to.
However, this good news about Gabriel’s health only raises more questions about him and his future with the team. Most NFL teams don’t have a need for four quarterbacks, so someone is probably leaving soon.
Speaking on ESPN, Chris Oldach made his prediction about the Browns and their QB choices.
“If it were me, I would trade Dillon Gabriel,” Oldach said.

At this point, the Browns should be considering which quarterback brings them the biggest return.
A few months ago, most people would have predicted that Shedeur Sanders would be the best trade asset, because of his youth, potential, and the excitement surrounding him.
But Tony Rizzo pointed out that at least two teams need to be involved in a trade, which means there needs to be an interested party that wants Sanders. Right now, it sounds like there isn’t a strong desire by rival squads to sign Sanders.
That’s not to say that Gabriel would bring in a huge haul for Cleveland. However, he could help them receive a few future draft picks, which could turn into someone special.
The Browns don’t need to rush, and it’s important to remember that Gabriel actually showed some promise in the preseason. Perhaps it would be wise for them to give him a few minutes on the field. Not only could that help the Browns, but it may also raise his trade value.
The Browns should play this smartly in order to get the most they can out of Gabriel, if they decide to move forward on a trade for him. The Browns will most likely make a change to their quarterback room in the near future.
And while Gabriel may make the most sense for a number of reasons, no one is sure of anything, and a surprising choice could be coming.
