The Cleveland Browns have a big Week 5 matchup at the New York Jets on Sunday. Nobody would have imagined that sentence could come out of anybody’s mouth just a month ago, but the Browns have a chance to tie their longest winning streak over the past 40 years if they can run this hot streak to four in a row.
Riding high off an impressive Thursday Night Football victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4, the Browns will look to keep riding that momentum and take down a Jets team that has lost three in a row. One thing working in Cleveland’s favor is the fact that they are relatively healthy heading into the matchup, though there are a few key members of the front seven on defense nursing some tough injuries.
Scott Petrak shared Cleveland and New York’s injury reports from Wednesday’s practice sessions. The most notable absences for the Browns were Mason Graham, Mike Hall, and Derek Barnett, potentially leaving the Browns thin in the trenches on Sunday if all are unable to suit up.

Graham making it back for Sunday’s game would appear to be a long-shot, though it’s encouraging that he is avoiding IR after leaving the Steelers game with damage to his MCL and ankle. Hall left the game with an ankle injury as well, and his status is unknown as well though he would appear to have a better chance of suiting up than Graham.
There are some major absences on the Jets side as well with starting corner Jarvis Brownlee Jr., starting running back Breece Hall, and No. 2 receiver AD Mitchell all missing practice. There’s a real chance all of them will be out Sunday as well, and Hall’s absence significantly hampering New York’s offense.
On the bright side, it was nice to see quarterback Dillon Gabriel in pads for the first time as he opens his 21-day practice window in his return from IR.
