The Cleveland Browns would love to add another victory to their win column this weekend, but it won’t be easy. They will be battling their AFC North foes, the Baltimore Ravens, who currently hold a 4-1 record.
The Browns have a few things going in their favor for the game, including the fact that Baltimore could be without their biggest star: Lamar Jackson. However, speaking on 92.3 The Fan, Bob Haynie suggested that Jackson could be back from his injury for Sunday’s big match.
Wednesday could provide clues about Jackson’s state, but even if the quarterback doesn’t talk to the press, he could still suit up for Week 6.
“He’s doing everything he can to be on the field Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. They’re back at practice today. Players usually meet with the media at 11:30, and Lamar usually speaks on Wednesdays. He did not last week. He didn’t play, so we shall see. Even if he doesn’t speak, I don’t think that means he will not go against Todd Monken, his former OC, but I’m still 50-50. We’ll get more insight later on today when the players speak,” Haynie said.
“I’m still 50-50.”

Jackson has been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury during the team’s Week 4 win over the Titans. Since then, all of NFL media have been keeping a close eye on the two-time MVP. Obviously, his inclusion in the lineup would be bad news for the Browns, but they have their own secret weapon: Todd Monken.
As noted by Haynie, Monken used to be the Ravens’ offensive coordinator. He has a close relationship with Jackson and knows the young man well. That means he also knows the best ways to outplay him and the rest of the offense, even though he’s no longer with the team.
That is one of the reasons why many Browns fans feel that Cleveland has a chance this weekend, even though Baltimore has a better record. It’ll be a chance for Monken to take everything he knows about the Ravens and use it to lead his new team.
However, endless intelligence about Jackson still might not be enough. Monken is no longer with the team, and it has transformed without him. His knowledge about Baltimore and its star QB might help, but the Browns could still struggle.
Jackson is a true threat. Even if he’s not at 100 percent, he could still create a serious headache for Cleveland.
They are hoping he takes the weekend off, but they still have a fighting chance if he’s ready to play.
