Before the season kicked off, many Cleveland Browns fans were hoping for just five or six wins. They didn’t expect their team to make the playoffs, but they wanted to see some sign of progress.
So far, they have. They accumulated three wins in a row and certainly look like they are headed in the right direction, even with last week’s loss to the New York Jets.
But how far can they go? Writing for Bleacher Report, Alex Ballentine predicted how many wins the Browns could rack up before the end of the 2026 season.
According to him, the Browns might not enter the playoffs, but they will definitely improve their numbers over last year.
“A 3-1 start going into Week 5 was a real reason for optimism for the Cleveland Browns. A Week 5 loss to the New York Jets was a harsh reality check. They also have an offense that can’t be counted on to win games. The first four weeks, the result was a team that could sneak into the playoffs. Week 5 looked more like a team on its way to a top-five draft pick. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle,” Ballentine wrote.
Right now they sit at 3-2 and, according to Ballentine, this weekend isn’t going to go easy on them. He predicted that they’ll fall at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, bringing them to an even 3-3.
But things turn around after that. In the weeks and months ahead, the Browns could take down the Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals, and Indianapolis Colts. That would result in an 8-9 record for the season.
If the Browns are able to pull that off, head coach Todd Monken will receive a ton of loyalty and praise from the fans. However, this record is not a guarantee. In order for it to happen, the defense has to stay strong, and the offense needs to keep up with them. Their last game wasn’t a great example of how the Browns can play, and another loss next week could dampen any optimism even more.
There is a path for the team to earn eight or even more wins in 2026, and that would send a very strong signal to the loyal fans who have been waiting for a big turnaround.
