The Cleveland Browns were hard at work during the latest draft, and it looks like it paid off. They have already proven that some of their rookies could be powerhouses for years to come. According to Tony Grossi, one of their rookies is already the best player on offense.
Speaking to ESPN Cleveland, he said that wide receiver Denzel Boston is a gem and needs to have the ball more often, especially this week when the Browns face off against the Baltimore Ravens.
“He’s the best player on offense, you’ve got to get him the ball more,” Grossi said.

Calling Boston the best offensive player after just five weeks is a massive honor, but Grossi studies this team inside and out. So when he makes a proclamation like this, people listen.
And at this point it’s pretty hard to argue against the idea that Boston is the strongest star on offense. Since starting the season, he has broken tackles, jumped through and past defenses, and has been able to keep his steady, strong hands on the ball.
Boston has 330 yards on 16 receptions and currently leads the entire league in receiving yards per reception with 20.6. He is obviously a proven talent, and now it’s just a matter of how much the Browns use him.
Ideally, Todd Monken would be able to turn to Boston often, while also spreading the responsibilities around and requiring other players to get involved. Boston may be the star player, but he needs backup and support.
Boston was selected as the 39th overall pick in the second round of the draft. Because of that, some people weren’t sure what he’d be able to deliver or how much time he’d get on the field. He has surpassed a lot of expectations.
Some people are even calling on him to win Rookie of the Year already. It may be too soon to claim awards, but Boston is definitely earning the attention of his coaches.
Grossi and others feel that he needs the ball in his hands even more often, because he has shown that he knows what to do with it.
