Game-day injury news can change a team’s plans in a hurry. Coaches spend the week preparing for multiple scenarios, but there is often hope that a key player will make it back in time. When that hope fades just hours before kickoff, the backup plan becomes the only plan. The Browns received that kind of news on Sunday morning.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Mason Graham will not play against the Ravens.
“Browns DT Mason Graham, listed as questionable for today’s Week 6 game against the Ravens, is not expected to play today,” Schefter said.

The news is disappointing, though not entirely surprising. Mason Graham was listed as questionable after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday and returning on a limited basis Friday, his first time on the practice field since suffering MCL and ankle sprains against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His absence leaves the interior dangerously thin. Kalia Davis and Mike Hall Jr. have already been ruled out, so the Browns will lean on Maliek Collins, Adin Huntington and the 2 practice squad elevations. Collins, who was limited during the week with a foot injury, will be counted on heavily after posting 1.5 sacks against the New York Jets.
Graham still leads the team with 4 sacks despite missing nearly all of the last 2 games, a reminder of how much his presence has meant to this defense.
The matchup makes his absence even more significant. The Baltimore Ravens will be without Lamar Jackson and center Cam Jurgens, which likely means a heavy dose of Derrick Henry. Stopping the run will be the top priority, and the Browns struggled in that department last week, allowing Braelon Allen to rush for 116 yards.
The good news is that Graham appears to be getting closer. A limited practice on Friday is a positive step, and sitting out against Baltimore could give him another week to heal before returning. For now, the Browns will need their depth to hold up against a physical Ravens offense in a game with major AFC North implications.
