The Cleveland Browns have gotten off to a surprising start, but with a pivotal Week 6 battle against the Baltimore Ravens up next, things are about to get real. This is the game that represents a potential turning point in the Browns’ season and will potentially dictate how the rest of this year will go.
If the Browns lose, they’ll be back at .500 and potentially in last place in the AFC North and two games back of first place. If they win, they’ll take over first place and continue on the path to potentially making an unlikely playoff run in the AFC.
Jack Duffin shared some stats that dictate just how much of a harbinger this game could be. He shared that historically, there is nearly a 30 percent greater chance for a team to make the playoffs if they are 4-2 as opposed to 3-3.
“With Lamar Jackson out, the #Browns have no excuses in this game. If they want to make the playoffs they need to win! 4-2, playoffs 65% of the time 3-3, playoffs 36% of the time Being a divisional game too, it’s massive!” Duffin said.

He is 100 percent right. With no Lamar Jackson, this becomes as much of a must-win game as the Browns have had in quite some time. With the winless Tennessee Titans on the schedule after the Ravens, there is a very real path for the Browns to put the loss to the New York Jets behind them and get to 5-2.
The Browns have lost three in a row to the Ravens and will hopefully have some added motivation since this will be head coach Todd Monken’s first game against his former team. Monken led two of the best offenses in the league over the past two years as Baltimore’s offensive coordinator, and it would be a great time to stick it to them for letting him leave for a division rival.
This is the biggest game the Browns have had in at least a couple of years, and the stars are aligning for them to pull the upset. They are catching the Ravens at the perfect time and we’ll see if they truly have what it takes to make that next step toward becoming a playoff contender.
