Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy got off to a miserable start this season as he was essentially phased out of the offense altogether. He had just two receptions for 26 yards through three games, but he has gradually made his presence felt over the past three weeks, especially last Sunday with a season-high four catches for 69 yards, the last of which helped set up the game-winning field goal against the Baltimore Ravens.
The lack of early production led to many analysts cooking up trade rumors as rookies Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion quickly became Watson’s favorite targets at the WR position. The Browns winning games and Jeudy starting to produce may quiet those rumors a bit, but Jeudy’s recent comments indicated that he is still hearing plenty of these rumors.
ESPN’s Justin Cooper recently shared a quote from Jeudy about the rumors, and the Browns WR said he is just taking things one day at a time.
“I’m gonna keep that (in house). You know, we just, we keeping it day by day now,” Jeudy said.

It’s unreasonable to expect Jeudy to avoid all the noise as many continue to speculate about where he may end up, but refusing to add any fuel to the fire is the right move here. This team is winning and it’s important to not rock the boat, especially since Jeudy is gradually becoming a factor in this offense again.
This is becoming a bit of a difficult situation. Cleveland surely wouldn’t mind someone else taking on Jeudy’s contract and can stomach the hit due to the other young weapons on this offense, but this team is better with Jeudy in town. The Browns have a chance to move to 5-2 with a matchup against the lowly Tennessee Titans on Sunday, and if winning is important, it’s a tough sell to the fans if they move Jeudy while the team is in first place.
There are only a few weeks before the trade deadline. Jeudy’s name will surely still circulate around the rumor mill, but if things keep trending in the right direction, it might make sense for the Browns to keep finding more ways to get Jeudy involved in the offense so they can keep this train rolling.
