There is just one more slate of games before the NFL trade deadline arrives on Nov. 10. As this week proved, the market can change in an instant, and that could work to the Cleveland Browns’ advantage.
The Baltimore Ravens lost their top two quarterbacks to injury in a loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Lamar Jackson lasted just one play in his return from an ankle injury, and he now needs thumb surgery that could end his season. Backup Tyler Huntley suffered a toe injury, and he reportedly is also going to miss extended time.
With that in mind, insider Tony Grossi named the Ravens as a trade option for Browns backups Shedeur Sanders or Dillon Gabriel.
“I think now a case could be made Baltimore could go after either one of them as their backup. If you’re Andrew Berry, you’re open to anything,” Grossi said.

The Browns are carrying four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster, and they could be looking to move on from one of them to ease that unusual situation. Whether they would be willing to help out a desperate division rival in the midst of a playoff race is worth questioning, but that could drive up the price to a point that Berry and the organization can’t ignore.
Baltimore reportedly was prepared to select Sanders in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft but did not, and Cleveland took him two picks later. So, one would expect that the Ravens put a lot of time into scouting Sanders coming out of college and as a potential opponent in the NFL.
Sanders made his second appearance of the season on Sunday. He played four snaps in the first quarter of a 27-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers while starter Deshaun Watson was being evaluated for a concussion. Sanders completed two short passes, but Harold Fannin Jr. lost a fumble on the second one, and Watson returned for the next series.
Playing time is likely to remain scarce unless Watson suffers a serious injury, so the Browns may be able to part with Sanders, but dealing him to another team in the AFC North might not be the best course of action.
