The Cleveland Browns entered Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens as underdogs. Yes, the Ravens were set to be without Lamar Jackson, but the team was still set to be a serious problem for Cleveland.
And the Ravens weren’t easy, but the Browns still outplayed them. In the end, they walked away with a 13-10 victory as well as the top spot in the AFC North standings.
Speaking on 92.3 The Fan, Ken Carman talked about the Browns and why fans were so elated by the latest turn of events. He doesn’t feel that Sunday’s win was a one-off fluke.
Instead, it’s a sign that this team really does have something special and its followers should believe in the future.
“I think there were a lot of people who did not want to talk themselves into thinking that they had a chance to beat the Ravens, and then they beat the Ravens, and the exuberance of the crowd was out of control. Everybody was excited. They were surprised, over the moon. Then, you realize, like, ‘Hey, you’re 4-2. We’re at the top of the division here.’ This isn’t just one glorious win as a gift over a much better football team, and then we go on, and we suck up the room, and that’s it for the rest of the year. 4-2. You’re coming off a Jets loss in the Meadowlands, and it just makes it so much easier and so much more explainable when you lose on the road and bad weather. This makes up for it,” Carman said.

No matter what happens next, Browns fans have every right to be thrilled and hopeful. Even if the rest of the season falls apart and the Browns crash back down to earth, there is no denying that this team is showing more promise than it has over the last few years.
When the year began, a lot of people viewed this season as a rebuilding one for the Browns. They had just lost several key players, including Myles Garrett, and it felt like the road ahead was long.
To be fair, the team is rebuilding, and there are still many questions about them, but they seem to be in a better position than most people expected. The Browns might hold onto the number-one spot in the AFC North next week if they take down the Tennessee Titans.
The rest of the schedule won’t be a cakewalk, and they have stiff competition, but things are feeling good in Cleveland once again.
