Nobody expected the Cleveland Browns to be heading into a Week 4 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers with a chance to move to 3-1, but after a pair of surprising victories in which Deshaun Watson showed flashes of the quarterback he used to be, all of a sudden the narrative around this team is starting to change. Cleveland has won four in a row over the Steelers at home and has a chance to really turn some heads on Thursday if it can run that streak to five in a row.
Suddenly, all eyes might not be on 2027 anymore, and some fans may be coming around to the idea of Watson being the starting QB. However, not everyone is fully on board just yet, and Garrett Bush of The Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show is among that group.
During a recent episode, Bush pointed out that this hot start won’t last unless the offense continues to improve. Despite the Browns scoring 23 and 21 points over the past two games, Bush still has his concerns on that side of the ball.
“If they keep playing the way they’ve played on offense, they won’t keep it up. That’s because the defense did a really good job of making sure they held them to three points. Sometimes you can win football games, and you get a couple of bounces your way, and it goes your way. Teams talk about building good habits. The thing that will not be sustainable is the number of penalties. You need to be able to expand the field. Running game was better, still got guys up front not holding blocks,” said Bush.
THE #BROWNS ARE 2-1… BUT HOW LONG CAN THAT LAST? 👀🏈@Gbush91 says if this offense continues to play the way it has, Cleveland WON’T KEEP WINNING MUCH LONGER.

Bush believes at least one or two areas of this team still need to improve in order for this to be sustainable, and he’s right. The running game hasn’t been good enough at all, as Quinshon Judkins has just 124 yards on 42 carries with no touchdowns.
The chunk plays should continue to show up as the offensive line continues to mesh and Watson keeps building confidence. We have seen a few big plays to Denzel Boston, but if KC Concepcion and Jerry Jeudy can get involved in the downfield passing game, this offense will look a lot more dynamic and defenses will have to worry about more than just Boston running go routes.
It’s not fun to hear somebody throw a wet blanket on this hot start, but it’s still so early in the season and it’s important to be realistic. The Browns need to keep building good habits and take this one week at a time.
