Browns Host 7 Players For Workouts

The Cleveland Browns have a few key members of the roster working through injuries, such as Mason Graham, Carson Schwesinger, Quinshon Judkins, KC Concepcion, Grant Delpit, and others. It’s still unclear at this point how close to full strength the Browns will be when they take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, who won’t be at full strength either since Lamar Jackson will be out once again.

With the injury report getting a bit lengthy, it’s not a bad time to look for a few reinforcements. With seven potential roster additions coming to town for a workout on Friday, it’s clear the Browns are prioritizing finding some more depth in the trenches.

Andrew Siciliano shared that the Browns tried out seven players, six of which are either linemen or linebackers.

“Browns tryout players, as posted on Friday’s transaction wire:
Carter, Ja’Tyre G Southern U.
Coker, Andrew T TCU
Johnson, Eric DT Missouri State
Saunders, John DB Mississippi
Swinson, Bradyn LB LSU
Weatherspoon, Da’Metrius T Syr
York, Taurean LB Texas A&M,” Siciliano said.

There are a few standouts amongst this group, including Swinson, who is just 24 and was a standout linebacker at LSU prior to being selected in the fifth round of the 2025 draft by the New England Patriots. They waived him after this past preseason after appearing in just three games as a rookie.

York is a 21-year-old undrafted free agent who has had a couple of tryouts since originally signing with the Denver Broncos after the draft. He was one of the most notable UDFA signings and even got the largest UDFA contract of the class, but he still didn’t make the opening day roster.

A number of these players have plenty left to offer and would surely be welcomed additions to the practice squad. Stay tuned to see if the Browns wind up signing any of these young talents.
