The Cleveland Browns offense is slated to look a whole lot different in 2026 due to all the new faces in the facility. Head coach Todd Monken has finally gotten his first shot to be a head coach at 60 years old and if his past success is any indicator, Browns fans can expect a much-improved running game.
Monken orchestrated one of the best rushing attacks in NFL history over the past few years as the offensive coordinator with the Baltimore Ravens. He may not have Lamar Jackson or Derrick Henry anymore, but this new offensive line and Quinshon Judkins should be able to generate quite an attack of their own.
Tytus Howard spoke about his new running back to the media recently. Howard gushed about how much he has enjoyed blocking for Judkins so far and believes they could all be positioned for a strong 2026.
“One thing I take away from Quinshon’s game is he’s very physical. Everything about his game is physical and that fits into the mold of what we’re trying to be as an offensive line. If we can be physical every play and get the running game going with Q, it’s going to open up the game and make it easier for Deshaun (Watson) back there at quarterback. I’ve been a fan of Q since he was in high school. I know what type of player he is and I know what to expect from him on Sundays,” said Howard.
This was a rather glowing endorsement and exactly what you want to hear from a right tackle. He described Judkins well, and it’s going to be fun to see what he can do behind this new offensive line.
Judkins had a solid rookie year with 827 yards and seven touchdowns, but he averaged just 3.6 yards per carry and was noticeably impacted by the neutered passing game all year. He was much more lethal as a runner early in the season when Joe Flacco was under center because Flacco could push the ball downfield and help open up running lanes, but as the line wore down and other quarterbacks took over, Judkins didn’t have nearly the same opportunities.
We won’t know what this passing game will look like due to all the uncertainties surrounding the quarterback situation, but Monken can absolutely cook up a nice physical running game that can serve as the backbone of this offense. His players sound like that’s what they want their identity to be, and they have the artillery to do so.
