Trade proposals tend to start flying once the standings begin to separate. Teams at the bottom look to sell, contenders look to add, and analysts start connecting the dots between the two. The Browns and Tennessee Titans sit on opposite ends of that spectrum after 4 weeks. One proposal suggests both teams could help each other with a simple swap.
Alex Kay of Bleacher Report pitched a one-for-one deal between the 2 teams.
He proposed an even Jerry Jeudy for Tony Pollard swap.
Trade details:
Tennessee Titans receive: WR Jerry Jeudy
Cleveland Browns receive: RB Tony Pollard
“While there are needs across the board, Tennessee has to bolster the passing game to feel confident about quarterback Cam Ward’s future. Jerry Jeudy could provide a shot in the arm as a dangerous No. 3 option. No other Browns back outside of starter Quinshon Judkins has garnered more than six carries or eclipsed 31 rushing yards on the year, making Pollard an intriguing trade option for the club,” Kay wrote.
The numbers explain why Jerry Jeudy keeps surfacing in trade talk. He has just 5 catches for 62 yards through 4 games and has been targeted only 8 times all season. He did not record a catch against Tampa Bay or Carolina, and he was not targeted at all in the win over the Panthers.
That is a stunning drop for a 1-time Pro Bowler who caught 90 passes for 1,229 yards in 2024. The emergence of Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion has pushed him down the pecking order, and Adam Schefter recently reported that he could be had before the November 10 deadline.
Tony Pollard would fill a different kind of need. Quinshon Judkins has been one of the toughest runners in the league to bring down, but he has carried a heavy load behind a line that is still coming together. That lines up with the depth concerns about this roster.
Pollard has rushed for more than 6,000 yards in his career, and he has 221 yards and a touchdown on 54 carries this season for a Titans team that has yet to win a game. He would give the Browns a proven complement to Judkins and insurance if injuries strike. He has also been a dependable receiver out of the backfield, which fits Todd Monken’s offense.
For Tennessee, the logic centers on Cam Ward. The Titans are 0-4 for the 2nd straight year, and Jeudy would give their young quarterback another experienced target alongside rookie Carnell Tate and Wan’Dale Robinson.
There are drawbacks for Cleveland, though. Trading Jeudy would leave an already young receiver room even thinner behind 2 rookies. Pollard also turns 30 next spring, which limits his value beyond this season, while Jeudy is still only 27.
Still, the concept makes sense for a team in Cleveland’s position. The Browns are 3-1 and leading the AFC North, and turning a receiver they rarely target into a running back who could help them withstand a long season might be the kind of move that keeps this surprising start on track.
