The Cleveland Browns are facing some injury issues on their defensive line heading into their Week 5 game against the New York Jets. Mason Graham, Mike Hall Jr. and Kalia Davis have each been ruled out.
Fortunately, the Browns have players available to step up from their practice squad, and they announced two roster moves on Saturday, elevating Sam Kamara and Chris Williams.
“We’ve elevated DT Sam Kamara and DT Chris Williams from the practice squad,” the Browns posted.

Kamara has played 18 games for Cleveland since 2022, including 11 during the 2024 season. In those appearances, he has 28 combined tackles and five tackles for loss, but no sacks or quarterback hits.
The 28-year-old re-signed with the Browns early in the offseason but was waived on cutdown day. He was signed to the practice squad shortly after that.
Williams has played in 44 NFL games for the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears, including all 17 for Chicago in 2024. He has 43 combined tackles, 4.0 sacks and 10 QB hits.
Another 28-year-old, he was released by the Atlanta Falcons on cutdown day and was signed to the Browns’ practice squad. He was let go after the season opener, then was brought back this week with the team dealing with those injuries.
Graham suffered a leg injury in the first quarter of the Browns’ 27-24 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers last Thursday. He was having a breakout season with four sacks in the first three games, which was tied for second in the NFL, and he is expected to be out multiple weeks, although he has not been placed on injured reserve.
Hall left the game against the Steelers with what looked like a serious leg injury, but he was able to return and had one of Cleveland’s five sacks of Aaron Rodgers. However, his ankle injury will sideline him this week.
Davis was a limited participant at practice on Wednesday. But he is unable to play with a quad injury.
With a win, the Browns could be 4-1 for the first time since 2021, and Kamara and Williams could be very important to that effort.
