Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry was on the verge of losing his job a few years ago, but after the magic he has worked over the past two drafts, his job security is stronger than ever. The 2025 class produced a number of foundational young talents, such as Mason Graham, Carson Schwesinger, Quinshon Judkins, and Harold Fannin Jr. while the 2026 class so far looks to be following suit.
Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion have immediately become the top two wide receivers on the depth chart while Spencer Fano and Austin Barber look like ten-year starters on the revamped offensive line. Berry went offense-heavy with the ’26 class, but his first defensive selection has been balling as well and is pushing for more responsibility.
During a recent episode of Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show, Tyvis Powell raved about rookie safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren and broke down what could be next for him in Mike Rutenberg’s defense.
“The confidence for him is just going through the roof…When you watch him, he kind of jumps off the tape with some of the things that he’s doing…The young buck is doing well, let’s just say that,” Powell said.

Powell praised McNeil-Warren for his instincts and always being in the right place. He also shouted him out for squaring up with Derrick Henry last week and getting him on the ground early in the game, which is a testament to his toughness and fearlessness.
He also sent a message to Grant Delpit, who is questionable for Sunday’s game, and told him he better not miss too much time because McNeil-Warren could be gunning for his job if he keeps playing like this. That’s probably a bit premature, especially since Delpit just signed an extension, but Mike Rutenberg does have to keep finding ways to get his young safety on the field as much as possible.
It was surprising to many draft experts when McNeil-Warren fell to the end of the second round in the 2026 draft, and the fans are now seeing why. He looks like a real gem and is looking more comfortable every week.
