The aftermath of the NFL roster deadline inevitably leads to a lot of player movement, with teams like the Cleveland Browns willing to make changes on the fly in order to improve their team. It means that a player who survived cutdown day on Sunday may not have a job with the Browns on Monday.
That is the case for edge rusher Julian Okwara, who was released after making the initial 53-man list. He could wind up on the practice squad, but for now, he is on the market.
According to analyst Fred Greetham, the Browns shuffled their roster to address a known weak spot, making room for cornerback Toriano Pride.

Okwara signed with the Browns during the 2025 offseason and spent the entire season on the practice squad before being placed on injured reserve in December with an undisclosed issue. He re-signed with them this offseason.
Pride was a seventh-round pick by the Buffalo Bills in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Missouri product made an impression by running a 4.32-second 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine.
The Browns got an up-close look at Pride during a joint practice with the Bills before playing them in the second preseason game. Cleveland has been looking for cornerback depth throughout the offseason, with undrafted free agent Michael Coats Jr. making the team after a strong training camp.
Also on Monday, the Browns added former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Bub Means to the practice squad, and they retained 10 players they released on Sunday. That includes cornerbacks Myles Bryant and D’Angelo Ross. Other players signed to the practice squad are defensive end Logan Fano, offensive lineman KT Leveston, punter Wes Pahl, defensive tackle Tyreak Sapp, defensive end Khordae Sydnor, safety Zion Washington, linebacker Nathaniel Watson and wide receiver Kole Wilson.
There are still some vacancies on the practice squad, meaning the Browns could bring back wide receivers Gage Lavardain and Luke Floriea if they do not find another team in the coming days.
