Two games into a season is rarely enough time for a betting market to completely rewrite its rankings, yet that is what happened this week around one Cleveland rookie. A receiver who opened the year buried near the bottom of the Offensive Rookie of the Year odds board suddenly finds himself rising up that same board.
FOX Sports broke down why Denzel Boston is a serious contender for the award after Sunday’s win over Tampa Bay.
“Two rookie wideouts are making their way up the board early in the season. Denzel Boston was a beast for the Browns in their win over Tampa Bay in Week 2, catching five balls for 95 yards and a score. He moved from +1800 to +700. His teammate, KC Concepcion, moved from +1800 to +900 after a four catch, 28 yard performance in that same game,” the article stated.
Jeremiyah Love currently sits as the favorite at +370, with Jadarian Price close behind at +600. Boston’s jump to +700 puts him in a tie for third overall, an enormous leap for a receiver who opened the odds board at +1800 before the season even started. Carnell Tate sits alongside him at that same number, while Concepcion trails just behind at +900, giving Cleveland two names inside the top five of a national award race after only two career games apiece.
The numbers behind that jump are hard to ignore. Boston became just the fourth player in NFL history to record a touchdown of at least 45 yards in each of his first two career games, joining a list that includes Pro Football Hall of Famer Bob Hayes. Through two weeks, he has caught 7 of 11 targets for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns, a level of explosiveness that has made him arguably the most electric rookie skill player in the league so far.
Cleveland selecting Boston in the 2nd round of the 2026 draft already looked like a solid value pick heading into the season, but this kind of immediate impact raises the ceiling.
There is still a long season ahead, and defenses will start game planning specifically for Boston’s deep speed once more film becomes available. For now, though, a rookie who barely registered on the national radar entering Week 1 has forced his way into the award conversation, giving Browns fans another reason to feel good about this draft class as the year develops.
