Few moments on a football field are scarier than watching a player stay down after a violent collision. The game stops, teammates gather around, and fans are left waiting for any sign that he is okay. Even after the player leaves the field, the worry usually lingers until there is word on his condition. Browns fans got some welcome reassurance about KC Concepcion a few hours after Sunday’s loss.
ESPN Cleveland shared a message the rookie posted on social media after the game.
“Yall know I’m good thanks to the lord and savior,” Concepcion wrote.

That message will come as a relief after the way his afternoon ended. Concepcion was knocked out of the game in the 1st quarter by a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, and he never returned in the 17-12 loss.
The diagnosis does mean he will have to work through the league’s concussion protocol before he can play again.
There is no set timeline. Some players clear the protocol within a week, while others need considerably longer, so his status for the Baltimore Ravens game on Sunday remains up in the air.
His value extends beyond the passing game. Concepcion entered Sunday with 144 receiving yards, but he has also been a weapon on returns, to the point that opposing punters have admitted to keeping the ball away from him.
His upbeat message also says something about his personality. He recently said that he could not wait for the chance to break a big return, and his quick reassurance after a frightening hit suggests that same competitive spirit is very much intact.
The Browns could use good news on the injury front. Mason Graham is already sidelined, and both Quinshon Judkins and Carson Schwesinger were seen in walking boots after the game. A quick return for Concepcion would ease some of the strain on a roster that is suddenly being stretched.
For now, the most important thing is that he is feeling well. The Browns will take a cautious approach, as they should, but if Concepcion can clear the protocol in time to face Baltimore, it would give a sputtering offense a much-needed lift heading into one of the biggest games of the season.
