With trade speculation growing around Marvin Harrison Jr., the Cleveland Browns were being mentioned as a possible landing spot for the Arizona Cardinals wide receiver. Now, it looks like Harrison is heading somewhere, but the destination remains unclear.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Cardinals have agreed to trade Harrison and are finalizing the deal, but the other team has not been identified.
“Breaking: The Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a deal to trade WR Marvin Harrison, sources tell me and Ian Rapoport. The team informed Harrison this morning that he will be inactive for Sunday’s game vs. Detroit as details of the trade are finalized,” Schefter posted.

The Cardinals are preparing for a home game against the Detroit Lions, but they reportedly will not have Harrison on the field. Meanwhile, the Browns will be on the road to play the New York Jets.
The Houston Texans are being named as the team that might be acquiring Harrison, but what the offer is remains unknown. Houston has been looking for a No. 2 receiver who can complement oft-injured Nico Collins and take over as a No. 1 when necessary. The Indianapolis Colts, where Harrison’s father played his Hall of Fame career, have also been mentioned.
With the Browns possibly looking to move on from veteran wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, Harrison, a former Ohio State star, was being seen as his possible replacement. But with KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston already showing great potential as rookies, it could make for an abundance of wide receivers in Cleveland.
The No. 4 overall pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, Harrison has not lived up to that status during his three seasons with Arizona. Harrison made 62 receptions for 885 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie, but last season, limited to 12 games by multiple injuries, his production declined to 41 catches for 608 yards and four touchdowns.
It has gotten even more discouraging for Harrison this year, with one or zero catches in three of the Cardinals’ four games. Now, he is about to get a chance to restart his career elsewhere.
If he does join the Browns, or any other team, he will have to get up to speed quickly in his new environment if he wants to be active in Week 6.
