Shedeur Sanders seems to be doing everything within his power to prepare for the Cleveland Browns’ upcoming quarterback competition. He knows that how he fares could determine the path for the rest of his NFL career.
Like a fighter getting ready for the main event, Sanders has been putting in the work heading toward the first set of offseason team activities, which begin later this month. Sanders’ camp has posted a number of training montages to social media, with the contender performing various drills.
Sanders is showing off impressive strength in the latest viral video, which is a good sign heading toward the 2026 campaign.
“Looks like [Shedeur Sanders] has been in the gym. In season shape,” Change7he Narrative posted on X.

The second-year quarterback may have already fallen behind Deshaun Watson, with the competition not officially underway. New head coach Todd Monken recently said that practice reps would not be divided equally, which led to speculation that there is already a preferred choice and the decision may be a foregone conclusion.
Owner Jimmy Haslam recently said Watson has a great chance to be the starter this season, and general manager Andrew Berry has left open the possibility that the QB could earn a new contract with the team after this season. However, other analysts believe that the competition will be more even-handed and that Sanders deserves a chance to start for the long-term benefit of the franchise.
These training videos may also be in response to some questions about Sanders’ willingness to prepare. Already saddled with questions about his playing character going into and coming out of the 2025 NFL Draft, when he fell into the fifth round, Sanders has to do everything he can to at least start this offseason on equal footing with Watson.
Watson, for his part, looks to be healthy after missing all of last season while recovering from an Achilles injury. In 2024, his season was cut short by a shoulder injury.
So, with the two combatants aiming to be in top shape when the bell rings, fans can expect to see more updates on their progress before practices begin.
