The Cleveland Browns are facing some challenges at training camp, with some position groups stretched thin by injuries. So, the Browns are trying to make the best use of their roster to overcome those issues.
With a couple of injuries on the offensive line, the Browns are reuniting with Jack Conley, who was let go earlier this week. They also are parting with wide receiver Jamari Thrash as part of the latest shakeup.
The Browns made five roster moves on Friday, adding two players and moving three others.

Conley was waived Tuesday to make room for cornerback Tyler Hall. With Elgton Jenkins, Parker Brailsford and Teven Jenkins all dealing with minor injuries, Conley was re-signed to provide depth on the offensive line.
The 6-foot-7, 333-pound lineman was on the Browns’ practice squad for part of last season. He was originally signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent.
Thrash’s potential departure is significant, as he was once seen as a promising player as a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, he was unable to take advantage of the Browns’ deficiencies at the position, particularly last season when their wide receivers ranked last in the NFL in receptions, yards and touchdown catches.
Now with rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston added to the mix, there may have been no room for Thrash even before his injury. With his injury designation, Thrash can be claimed on waivers by any other NFL team, and if not, he would land on Cleveland’s injured reserve list.
Lukus was recently waived by the Tennessee Titans. Interestingly, new Browns defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg worked under Titans head coach Robert Saleh with the New York Jets, so perhaps the rookie out of Clemson can find a role in Cleveland.
Carrico signed as a free agent this offseason after attending rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. Green, a five-year NFL veteran, was promoted off the Browns’ practice squad late last season.
There are likely to be many more moves to come for the Browns as training camp moves along.
