Odell Beckham Jr. will be a Cleveland Brown in 2020, maybe.
In a confusing statement made by general manager Andrew Berry, the status of the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver’s future is up in the air.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Berry is willing to listen to trade offers for Beckham.
However, he insists that Beckham is part of the team’s future.

A Part Of The Future
Berry elaborated further that the Browns want Beckham apart of the team in 2020.
“Odell’s a very talented football player,” Berry said, via Cabot. “We view him as part of our future. Kevin and I both have had really good conversations about our expectations for him and we expect him to adapt to those moving forward. We’re excited about the future with Odell, excited about what he’s going to do this fall.”
The Browns have hired an offensive-minded coach in Kevin Stefanski and a new offensive coordinator in Alex Van Pelt.
Moving Beckham at this point just seems like odd timing.
Improving The Browns
Berry has told the public that he plans to be aggressive this offseason.
We never expected that moving Beckham was one of those means.

It’s unclear what type of haul Berry is looking for in return.
It would surely have to be comparable to what the Browns gave up last year.
When the Browns traded for Beckham, the team gave the New York Giants a first-round pick, a third-round pick, and safety Jabrill Peppers.
Who Is A Suitor?
According to early sources, the New York Jets are interested.
A source tells @KristianRDyer that if Odell Beckham Jr. were to be traded, the Browns receiver would view the Jets as an ideal landing spot https://t.co/TB3VTqOdGt pic.twitter.com/3Z8AkULR13

If this were to happen, this would be Beckham’s third team in three years.
When it comes to bouncing around, it never ends well for the receiver.
The Jets are in rebuilding mode and are in the market for a wide receiver.
However, it’s unclear if this would be the best idea for both parties.

Final Thoughts
When reading the tea leaves, it sounds more likely that the Browns will keep Beckham Jr.
Why would the Browns want to trade away a 1000-yard receiver after hiring two new offensive minds?
Give the Browns at least one season to see what Stefanski and Van Pelt can do to the offense.
After 2020, the trajectory of the franchise’s future will be more clear for everyone.
