Excitement is building as the Cleveland Browns get set to open a new stadium in 2029 as New Huntington Bank Field is getting closer to completion with each passing day. There was plenty of pushback when the move was announced, but winning cures everything and hopefully the Browns can continue on this current trajectory and have a team the fans can be proud of when it’s time to move homes.
Not to be forgotten is the current practice facility, which would look decrepit by comparison to New Huntington Bank Field were it not for some upgrades. Thankfully, the plan for those upgrades has now arrived as CrossCountry Mortgage Campus is set for an overhaul.
ESPN’s Tony Grossi shared that the Browns are investing $70 million to upgrades the locker room in the practice facility, along with the cafeteria and the meeting rooms.
“Browns investing $70 million in upgrades to practice facility locker room, cafeteria & meeting rooms,” Grossi said.

The $70 million investment is coming 100 percent from the ownership group and will be completed in two phases. The first phase will focus on locker room upgrades which will be set to open ahead of next year’s training camp, while the second phase will include a new two-story addition and upgrades to the cafe, auditorium, and meeting rooms, all scheduled for completion by training camp in 2028.
This has been Cleveland’s practice facility for over three decades and was due for some upgrades. Aside from a weight room upgrade in 2023, it hasn’t undergone any changes to the player spaces since 2016 and the Browns have decided it’s time to make some additions to better take care of the roster.
It’s always nice to see ownership invest in the team, especially when it doesn’t involve any taxpayer money. Kudos to Haslam Sports Group and hopefully this investment will result in the Browns producing some of the best results they ever have.
