The Cleveland Browns didn’t make any trades at the deadline earlier this month.
However, that hasn’t stopped the organization from continuing to make moves.
They recently claimed linebacker Elijah Lee off waivers from the Detroit Lions.
Although, the Browns needed to remove someone from their active roster to make room for Lee.
The organization decided to waive center Evan Brown and activated Lee in a corresponding move.

This isn’t a blockbuster move, but every change matters, especially for a team competing for a playoff spot like the Browns.
Lee Adds Depth
Lee is a former seventh-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings from the 2017 NFL Draft.
He was a promising prospect out of college, but never blossomed in the NFL.
The 24-year-old linebacker had some nice moments in college, but surprisingly dropped into the seventh round.

He never saw a snap in Minnesota before being signed to the San Francisco 49ers active roster.
Lee spent three seasons with San Francisco, but really only made an impact in one of them.
In 2018, Lee finished with 65 tackles, one sack, and one fumble forced in 16 games.
He wasn’t really given much of a chance after that and landed on the Detroit Lions in 2020.
This season, Lee appeared in four games with Detroit before the team opted to cut him.
Browns fans shouldn’t expect Lee to come in and be a starting linebacker.
This was mainly a move to add depth to the weak linebacker group in Cleveland.
Goodbye Evan Brown
Brown was a four-year starter during his years playing college football at SMU.
He was given an All-American honorable mention during his senior year.

Brown spent a little time with the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins last season.
He played in four total games before landing in Cleveland this past offseason.
The 24-year-old center appeared in five games with the Browns this season.
He was depth an offensive line that has been fairly strong through the first half of the year.
Best of luck to Brown going forward, but hopefully the addition of Lee will give the Browns a small boost down the stretch.
