The Cleveland Browns have a tough challenge ahead of them in Week 6. They’ll square off against the Baltimore Ravens for the first time this season. This is the first time that head coach Todd Monken will face off against his former team since joining the Browns.
The Browns are going to need everyone to contribute to pull off a victory this Sunday. However, Ben Solak of ESPN believes that rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston can be a big difference-maker this weekend.
“Browns WR Denzel Boston will have his first 100-yard game,” Solak wrote. “Boston has the blend of size, hand strength and technique that allows him to win in the layers between defensive zones, where the Ravens have really struggled to condense space so far under new coach Jesse Minter. Boston is the current leader in yards per reception (20.6) and in Offensive Rookie of the Year odds (+170 on DraftKings) — that shouldn’t change after Sunday.”
The Browns might’ve gotten one of the biggest steals of the draft when they selected Boston out of Washington in the second round. The rookie wideout has outperformed most of his fellow rookie wideouts through the first handful of weeks of this NFL season.
Coming into Week 6, Boston has recorded 16 receptions with 330 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He has been by far the most successful wideout on this roster during the first few games of the regular season. The expectation is that Boston will continue to find success against the Ravens defense on Sunday.
The Ravens have struggled to contain the passing game early in the season. This unit has allowed 1,190 passing yards coming into Sunday’s game. Since Week 2, this defense has allowed over 220 passing yards to every opponent. They’ve been vulnerable to the deep ball, which could be a problem on Sunday.
As mentioned earlier, Boston is currently the leader in yards per reception coming into Week 6. Solak believes that Boston has a great chance of posting his first 100-plus yardage game. He got close in Week 2, when he finished with 95 receiving yards in the win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fans shouldn’t be surprised if Boston torments the Ravens’ defense this weekend.
