Things didn’t go as planned for the Cleveland Browns during their recent game against the New York Jets. They ended up falling 17-12, a disheartening defeat that slowed the momentum they had been building during three consecutive wins.
There were plenty of reasons for the loss, but one of the biggest was the injury to rookie KC Concepcion. Concepcion was injured during the first quarter of the game due to a brutal hit from Minkah Fitzpatrick. Appearing on 92.3 The Fan, Mary Kay Cabot stated that the loss of Concepcion threw the Browns off their game.
The team tried to get it together without Concepcion, but so many of their plans rested on his shoulders.
“They had a lot built in that game plan for KC, and I really think that hurt them,” Cabot said.

The bad news for the Browns is that Concepcion may not be playing this weekend as he recovers. That means Cleveland could be without one of their most exciting young stars against the Baltimore Ravens.
However, this gives the Browns several days to make plans that don’t revolve around Concepcion. They were surprised and thrown off by his absence against the Jets, but that won’t be the case this time, and that could allow them to be in much better shape when they take on the Ravens.
He is clearly a very important part of the team’s offense. Coming into Sunday’s game, he was tied for the most receptions, and now they may be losing him for another week.
It’s important to note that Concepcion wasn’t the only Browns player to be bitten by the injury bug. Raheim Sanders and Tytus Howard also got hurt during the fourth quarter.
The Concepcion injury has started a big conversation about unnecessary roughness and how Fitzpatrick acted. But it’s also led to people talking about how the Browns can win without one of their most vital rookies. Even with Concepcion, taking down the Ravens was a tall order.
If he’s not able to suit up on Sunday, that task will be even more difficult.
