There is a lot of money to be made in professional sports. It’s not just the merchandise that brings in cash, either. For those who are lucky enough to own a sports team, the money doesn’t stop flowing.
Sportico just listed all NFL teams and their current valuations, sizing up how much they are worth before the 2026 season. The Cleveland Browns are No. 21 on the list, coming in at a value of $8.6 billion.
That’s a 40 percent increase from last year.
“2026 NFL Franchise Valuations Ranking: 21. Cleveland Browns – $8.6 billion,” per Sportico.
$8.6 billion is obviously an eye-popping amount of money, but the Browns are still toward the bottom of this list. The Dallas Cowboys sit atop everyone else with a value of $15.5 billion, followed by the Los Angeles Rams ($12.7 billion), New York Giants ($12 billion), and the New England Patriots ($10.4 billion).
Some people may believe that the size of a team’s home city is the best indicator of its valuation, but that isn’t the case. Although LA and New York teams are often worth more, the value is often driven by the fanbase, the team’s history, and more.
The Browns are a storied franchise that has been around for decades. Even during tough times, the team is worth a lot of money.
The Haslam family currently owns the Browns, and there isn’t any indication that it could change soon. In fact, the Haslams seem very invested in the franchise and are helping bring it to a new stadium, which is set to open in a few years. They are clearly committed to the Browns, so it would be shocking to see them sell their stakes any time soon.
The Browns have climbed up this list over the last year. They are currently sitting right behind the Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Chargers.
Where will they be a year from now?
