The Cleveland Browns dropped their Week 8 game on Halloween to the Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 15-10.
This game, like others the Browns lost this season, was very winnable.

With the loss, the Browns are 8-8 with another divisional matchup coming up in Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Here are the news and notes from the game.
1. Plenty Of Blame To Go Around
Social media had plenty of opinions about what cost the Browns this game.
Coaching was suspect.
3rd & 9 and Joe Woods has the CBs playing soft coverage 11 yards off the ball. Someone explain this to me. #Browns

Wide receivers took some blame also.
A lot of dropped footballs today by #Browns.

Baker Mayfield didn’t fail the #Browns today. Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. did.

This sums it up best.
The Browns were outplayed.
The #Steelers just walked into First Energy Stadium and broke the #Browns despite a horribly officiated game that kept giving Cleveland life. Outplayed them straight up and Pittsburgh's on a 3-game win streak.

2. Festive Halloween At The Stadium
A win would have made Halloween even better at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Players came in costume.
Jarvis Landry was a Paw Patrol character.

Fans of the movie Happy Gilmore appreciated Jamie Gillan and Chase McLaughlin‘s look.

3. Slow Grind Scored
D’Ernest Johnson earned legions of fans after carrying the Browns to victory in Week 7 against the Denver Broncos.
With Kareem Hunt still on IR, Johnson saw action again today.
He did not disappoint.
D'Ernest juked out TWO people 😳

There are very few bright spots on this offense in recent weeks so it is comforting to see Johnson continue to build on his success in Week 7.
4. Jack Conklin Cannot Stay Healthy
It just feels like one thing after another.
This one looks like a bad luck injury that could cause Conklin to miss time again.

5. Onto Cincinnati
This was a very disappointing defeat.
But the Browns have to shake it off.
The team travels to Cincinnati for a Week 9 game.
The Browns cannot afford to lose back-to-back AFC North games.
This division is too tight; the margin of error is too small.
How will the Browns respond?
It will be interesting to see what they are made of because this team is 1 loss short of its entire number of losses in all of 2020.
