Every NFL season produces a few bettors willing to take a swing on the longest shots on the board. Most of those wagers are placed in the summer, when every team is 0-0 and hope costs nothing. It is a little different when someone puts real money on a team that just crawled out of a blowout loss to open the year. That is what happened this week with the Browns, and the potential payout is enough to turn heads.
Polymarket Football posted the details on the big bet.

The math is simple. If Cleveland wins the Super Bowl, the bettor collects more than 170 times the original stake, walking away with a profit of nearly $260,000.
The timing of the bet is not an accident. It came just days after the 23-19 comeback win in Tampa Bay, where Deshaun Watson and the Browns erased a 10-point deficit in the 3rd quarter.
Denzel Boston has 154 yards and 2 touchdowns through 2 games, and an offensive line featuring 5 new starters has held up well in pass protection. At 1-1, Cleveland is right in the middle of the pack.
But the Browns also have real concerns. The Browns rank 23rd or worse in EPA per play on both sides of the ball, and the running game has struggled. Mike Rutenberg’s defense is still searching for consistency without Myles Garrett, and Deshaun Watson is being evaluated on a week-to-week basis.
History is not on the bettor’s side either. The Browns have never played in a Super Bowl, and their last championship came in 1964.
The next step comes Sunday against the Carolina Panthers in the home opener. A win would push Cleveland above .500 for the first time this season and give this bettor at least a little more reason to believe. A loss would make that $261,324 ticket look even further away.
